Avoid crypto jargon in Web3 Gaming!
Hi anon! I wrote a Twitter thread on why we should prevent using crypto-related jargon in the Web3 gaming space. I will include all the tweets here so you won’t have to go through Twitter to read it.
Let’s get going!

It's time for us to stop using crypto-related jargon in Web3 gaming, especially when introducing Web3 games to non-crypto people.
Maybe just explain to them the concept of a 'Web3 game' where you can digitally own the items or skins of your characters for example.
4/
You're probably wondering why use Web3? Isn't it that related to crypto too?
Well, it doesn't really have to be a called 'Web3' game.
I used this word because I believe that as of the moment, 'Web3' has the least negative connotation compared to the other words.
Wait anon! There’s a mini typo in the 4th tweet lol sorry about that.
5/
The main point is to avoid using crypto-related jargon as much as possible as they are intimidating and have a negative connotation to traditional/Web2 gamers.

Here's the best short explanation by @SpikeReacts_ of what is the word 'GameFi' (and Play-to-Earn as well)
Btw, Spike is a good Web3 gaming content creator! I recommend checking his profile 🐺
Spike @SpikeReacts_
Here are Spike’s tweets if you don’t want to read it via Twitter:
Token price shouldn't be what determines if a Web3 game is fun or successful. Web3 games should be evaluated by if they are fun to play.
If token price is the driving force of a game it's no longer a game it's Gamefi (Gamified Finance).
The easiest way to check if a Web3 game is GameFi ask this simple question.
"Would anyone play this if there was no earning?"
If the answer is no it's more than likely GameFi.
7/
I think using the word 'GameFi' is unavoidable in the world of finance and traders.
But I am talking here from a perspective of a gamer myself who loves the idea of digital ownership in video games, and gamers having more control and stake in their gaming experience.
8/
If traditional/Web2 gamers hate crypto & NFTs, then be it. We're the ones who should adjust if we want Web3 games to go mainstream.
Let's make them play an 'NFT game' without letting them know.
9/
One potential same scenario is when Reddit announced the successful launch of its own limited edition collection of NFTs on Polygon in July 2022.
But there's a twist.
They call them “Collectible Avatars” instead of 'NFT Avatars'.
10/
In December 2022, the total number of created (minted) avatars by Reddit users reached the 5 million mark.
And some of these users that hate NFTs do/did not even know that they are dealing with NFTs.
11/
If Reddit can do this, I'm sure Web3 gaming projects can do something similar to this!
But it starts with the little things... avoid using crypto-related jargon in Web3 gaming as much as possible.
I'm doing my part and I hope you all do too 😄

Defining "Web3 Game" is an important topic. We may even call all games just games, to not scare/misslead gamers away.
Gamers are here only for the game experience, while investors or play2earners often are not.

@MPH6967 Good thread bud💯
It doesnt have to be called a 'Web3' game
When Web3 games go mainstream, they'll be considered just 'games' anyway
The main point in my thread is to avoid crypto-related jargon... I believe this is a stepping stone to going mainstream

And that’s all for today, anon! Thank you for reading until the end.
