MIR M is being developed by Wemade, a game developer based in South Korea.
They've produced successful games before venturing into the Web3 space.
Some of their most popular games are:
🔹 Ridder of Icarus
🔹 Digimon Battle Online
🔹 The Legend of Mir series
🔹 And most notably, its Web3 title, MIR4
The Legend of Mir 2, and its sequel The Legend of Mir 3 are among Wemade’s most successful games. Legend of Mir has attracted around 500+ million users and brought about $65 million in revenue a month at its peak.
The Legend of Mir 2 continues to generate approximately $20 million per month in China alone even in its ninth year of operation.
As for its recent funding, in November 2022, Wemade announced in its press release that it has raised $46 million from Shinhan Asset Management, Kiwoom Securities, and the tech giant Microsoft. It has been also disclosed in a regulatory filing that it raised the funds through sales of convertible bonds.
📍Facts about MIR4
As I have mentioned, MIR M is a sequel to MIR4
And MIR4 is a free-to-play & open-world K-fantasy MMORPG that can be cross-played on both PC and mobile platforms.
MIR4 is also the successor to The Legend of Mir series by Wemade and was initially launched without the crypto integration or Web3 elements.

MIR4 is one of the most popular Web3 games globally. It consistently had 5+ million players monthly since January 2022 according to ActivePlayer It was also ranked in Top Games and Top Grossing charts on mobile app stores such as Google Play and Apple App Store.
📍MIR M: Vanguard & Vagabond
MIR M is a free-to-play and play-and-earn open-world MMORPG game that is set in the universe of the Mir games.
To begin playing the game, you will have to choose a class for your character.
It only has three classes as of this writing:
🔹 Warrior
🔹 Taoist (Healer)
🔹 Sorcerer (Mage)
MIR M maximizes ‘grid battlegrounds’ , the unique strategic performance of the original game, The Legend of Mir 2
This elevates the fun of tactical plays
And 'quarter-views’, which makes it easier for players to identify the battle composition.
There’s a new growth system called ‘Mandala’, which gives users freedom by allowing them to activate different states and customize their characters in their preferred way.
There are also two cool game features:

These features allow clans to battle for economic rewards and power.
Whichever clan controls the Hidden Valley, will get more of the valuable in-game resources called 'Darksteel'.
Darksteel can then be exchanged for $DRONE tokens.

MIR M is utilizing 2 digital currencies:
🔹 $DOGMA
Governance token
Implements inter-game economy with MIR4 (meaning, the token is also used in MIR4)
Acquirable through the DIVINE Staking program which consists of MIR M's DRONE token Staking and MIR4's HYDRA token Staking
🔹 $DRONE
Obtained by using the Darksteel Chests (valuable in-game items) in the game
Can be staked to obtain DOGMA tokens
They also plan to launch digital collectible or NFT (Non-Fungible Token) trading services for game characters and items in the future.
📍Pros and Cons
🔹 Pros:
The team (Wemade) has experience in developing both Web2 and Web3 games.
Microsoft, a tech giant, is backing and taking a bet on Wemade’s success in the Web3 gaming space.
The game is cross-playable on mobile and PC devices
It is free to play. You don’t need NFTs to start playing.
Mir universe has a large player base.
MIR4 is heavily marketed in Asia
The game has rich content... there's a lot to do in it.
The graphics are decent.
Good storyline
So far, they are successfully implementing an anti-bot system... unlike in MIR4 which was infested by bots who just try to extract value from the game economy.
🔹 Cons:
You can only use one crypto wallet in the game, PLAY wallet (WEMIX), to trade your DOGMA and DRONE tokens. Meaning, you cannot use a Metamask wallet and trade your tokens in other DEXes like Uniswap.
PLAY wallet is centralized as you use your email and provide personal information to register.
MIRM currently has poor reviews, mainly because of bugs and device optimization.
The game is currently always at maintenance... it will definitely test out your patience.
If you're not a fan of the auto-battle feature in MMORPG games, then this game may not be for you.
This is based on my experience, but the camera is not movable. You can only zoom in and out.
📍Conclusion
Although there are many cons, most of these can be improved and worked on. The game was just recently launched, so bugs and optimization problems are expected.
Hence, the pros still outweigh the cons.
MIR M is definitely worth trying out, it's one of the only Web3 games that are actually playable right now.
